PLANNING PERMISSION…Is it required?

Most of our buildings are built to fall within Permitted Development Rights and therefore not requiring Planning Permission, providing you’re not in a Conservation Area or Listed Building.

If you find that you do require Planning Permission, we can provide drawings to accompany your application.

OUR TIMBER

All our buildings no matter what the specification, are made from kiln dried Scandinavian redwood which is imported from privately owned forests with FSC or PEFC Certification in Scandinavia.
Its properties make it an ideal species for joinery, as well as cladding and general construction.

FOUNDATIONS

Our recommended foundation is a concrete base.
Exactly to the size specified for the building
100mm deep (subject to individual ground conditions)
At least 50mm proud of ground level all round (to keep the timber floor or bottom of cladding away from any sitting water)
Edges not to be trowelled (edges left 90 degrees)
Smooth, tamped and sawn finish – not rippled!
